Just like a bird who swoops in to sing a song and call your attention to your heart, to nature, to the beauty of the present moment, Rebecca is here to sing that magic song into your life... From a young age I felt a strong connection to Spirit and spent much time in spiritual communities, alone, and in Nature. I have been blessed to work with so many teachers including Mama Medicine Deborah Hanekamp, Victor Nieto and other indigenous teachers from South America, teachers from Wise Women and Celtic traditions, Robin Rose Bennet, Animal Psychic Amelia Kinkade, Doula trainer Debra Pascali-Bonaro, Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese Medicine practicioners, as well as many other teachers from books and the spiritual realms. I am so grateful to all who have come before me and passed down these wisdom lineages. Especially midwives, birthing peoples, and all my friends and family as we all learn from each other. Each one of us has something to share and I never stop learning.
I began teaching Pre-Natal Yoga in 2007 and immediately developed a strong passion in my work with Pre-Natal clients. I became a Birth Doula in January of 2012 through DONA International, and a Postpartum Doula shortly after.
My work as a Doula is based upon the belief that all people should have a fully supported birth experience, with the right to be informed, respected, and comforted as they choose. All of us know how to give birth and nurture our babies, and often we just need the space and support to be able to unleash our inner wisdom and power, to be true to ourselves during this experience. Giving you space to celebrate your own way is one of the greatest joys of this experience.
Understanding that each families needs are different, I strive to help all enjoy this amazing transition in whatever ways they need. I believe that family's can have an amazing birth experience wherever they are, as long as they are fully supported. Specializing in working with the breath, meditations and visualizations, physical comfort measures, massage, reiki, encouragement, emotional support, informational support, thoughtful care and advocacy.
I was certified by DONA International in 2013 and have doula-ed over 212 births. I work with birth in home, birth center, and hospital birth, both medicated and unmedicated, and from vaginal birth, to cesarean section, to VBAC. ~ I serve the Birthing Person, Baby, and the whole Family, to help support peace in our world. Rebecca thrives in Brooklyn, New York with her husband Monty, her two children Andromeda and Maitreya, dog Benny, and cat Minerva.

Working with Rebecca and Jasmine was the best decision we made on our birth journey. We engaged with them pretty early on and their support before, during and after birth was truly invaluable. Being able to text them questions about pregnancy and get all their recommendations from newborn essentials, to postpartum care made the stress of baby planning so much lighter. Rebecca was with us through the entire birth of our daughter Phoebe and looking back now I truly can't imagine it any other way. She came to our apartment in early labor and helped us make the decision of when to head to the hospital. She guided my husband through supportive labor techniques. She was also the main point person communicating with our midwife at the hospital which was incredibly helpful. They helped me create a birth plan and supported/ advocated for us the whole time. As new parents having Rebecca and Jasmine to text in those early days when we had a million questions gave us so much peace of mind. I really can't put into words how happy we are that we found this incredible doula team. Thank you Rebecca and Jasmine for everything! We are so so grateful and can't wait to tell Phoebe all about her birth story one day!

If there was a 6th star to give, we would. We decided, very late, that a doula would be a good idea. We wanted continuity throughout the process, and knew that hospital shifts would change, so we might not have certainty on who we would deal with in the labor room. Since we were so late in deciding, we had difficulty finding a doula. We couldn't have been luckier to find Rebecca! From the initial visit with us to joining us in the labor room (at 9a on Dec 19th) to Max's arrival a 6am the next day(!), she was wonderful. She brought such a calming and positive energy and we relied on her experience and insights heavily. She was definitely the continuity we needed, as she was logging all the labor activity so there was no question as to what had happened when. She allowed me to grab some food without leaving my wife alone, and gave us a solid foundation for decision-making late in the process. She was a cheerleader, a shoulder and a friend and we couldn't recommend her higher. If you need a doula, or are even curious about what they do, please look no further and contact her.

Rebecca was my doula for my first child, born this October. Rebecca is amazingly calm and positive- just the kind of personality you want in a stressful situation like labor! She was an amazing support for myself and my husband throughout the whole process- first at my home, then the cab ride to the hospital, and for all 11 hours at the hospital. She helped me achieve my goal of having a natural labor experience, with massage techniques and suggesting positions. I can't imagine laboring for the first time without a doula, and I highly recommend Rebecca!

Rebecca was absolutely wonderful. I had questioned the need for a doula initially and found Rebecca after my midwife encouraged me to enlist additional support. My midwife was right! Rebecca's presence at and assistance with the birth was just perfect. She was my right hand woman through it all and provided emotional and physical sustenance (yummy banana bread!). Most touching, Rebecca gave me the gift of memorializing my little one's birth story. I will be reading it to my daughter every year on her birthday, I have no doubt.
